Today is the opening day of the World Series bringing together the best of the National League vs. the best of the American League.  So what better day to bring together 2 other worthy adversaries that do not come together very often; the White Castle Slider (w/cheese) and Beer Batter.  The original Slider is a glorious thing after a few cold ones so why not put the 2 together and create a better product.

At this point myself and Glutton #2 dove in and enjoyed the crispy outside and the piping hot inside, it was magical.  Trust me this should have been done a long time ago.  Adding the crispy outside texture made you yearn for more, 2 more apiece actually.

After 2 1/2 Deep Fried Sliders we were aware of a few things:

1. An immediate need for water.

2. Knowledge of what “a heart condition” is.

3. The pickle tied everything together.

4. We will not be doing this again anytime soon.

Update: 1 hour later Glutton #2 texted me, simply, “I am hurting”.  Hurting with joy I assumed.

Meet the Gluttons:

Glutton #1 – A classically trained chef, Glutton #1 prefers American Contemporary Cuisine to almost all others.  Although his favorite joints would include the Thai Pastry in Uptown and the Chef’s Table at Tru in Streeterville, one of his glutton dreams of eating at The French Laundry in Napa Valley might outshine anything reviewed here!

Glutton #2 – A true glutton only eats the best food – anything fried or greasy.  Glutton #2 could spend all day coming up with ideas for new things to batter, fry and consume.  Watch out – your favorite food might be next!

Glutton #3 – A southerner from birth Glutton #3 can not pass up bacon.  Bacon, Bacon, Bacon is the mantra for this glutton.  If anything can be ordered with a side of bacon, bacon on top or bacon mixed in, Glutton #3 will try it and let you know where to get your bacon fix!

Glutton #4 – A kid conscious glutton, Glutton #4 is always on the lookout for fun food experiences for kids.  Often with two-mini gluttons in tow, Glutton #4 won’t let a messy dish or delicious treat pass these kids by – tune in for some mini glutton food and fun!
